Appologies for yet another M42 was created by wellbuttie
Appologies in advance folks for this posting of yet another M42, however, I just couldn't resist the tempatation to snap a few shots of it when imaging The Plieades, earlier this week. I took the opportunity to acquire a few images of M42, while the scope was awaiting to be flipped over the Meridian, as M45 was my primary target.

Imaged using a Canon 350D c/w Baader UHC-S Filter connected to a Megrez 90 Scope, piggybacked on a CGE 11inch SCT. A Stack of 10 x 10 Sec, 22 x 30 Sec and 46 x 60 Sec, exposures at ISO 1600. Location Cherrymount, Waterford, Ireland. 28th of December 2008

This is the result:

WOW Steve that's top notch!
The detail is superb.
So much time and effort to go into that it's commendable.
The running man looks like he's doing an 'ooooh yeah!'

Fair play.

Many thanks for the encouragement folks. It proved to be trickier than I thought, to merge the different timed exposures. I had to start from scratch about 4 times until getting a result that I thought acceptable.

Frank, maybe the Running Man, is just running out of breath? B) afterall he has been running from a long time now. Or maybe he has won the race?;)

Best regards

Steve
