Nice image there James! You know, it actually looks like you have used ISO1600 FILM instead of a digital camera! Reminds me of some shots I have of the Plough on 2 minute exposures on 1600 film - its the colour grain effect to the black background!

Excellent image James. I have also taken some images tonight (and last night, 2 clear nights in a row  ) As I do not yet have a shutter release I am limited to using the self timer to fire the 30 second exposures. I have stacked a couple of images in registax but only see a small improvement in the results.
Anyway the results are on the Kerry Astronomy Club site

James, would you like to post some images on our site??

I see you managed to get the ion tail last night, which was quite prominent. I was out last night and took 50 shots, all ruined by the high winds but through the blur I saw a tail.
Yes, I would like that. You can also link to any photos on my website. It's good for my hit count!
Keep an eye on james.butler.name/weblog/astrodiary/astrodiary.html and see what you would like then just ask and I'll send you a copy. I am working on some links of my own and can cross-link with your site too.
