James, That's a beautiful shot Nice colour.
As a matter of interest, I'm looking for a cable release for my 300D, what do you use?
Thanks,
Keith..

I just use the standard Canon RS-60E3 cable for now but will make my own Parallel Printer socket to camera shutter cable when I get DSLRFocus.
In fact it should be easy to make a standard shutter cable from the DSLRFocus cable instructions at www.dslrfocus.com/help/eoscable.htm . Use the second diagram. Forget the 9-pin/25-pin plugs and discrete components and hook up a push to make/release to break switch to a phone jack.

Folks - is anyone using an LPI to DSI to image Machholz?
I tried the DSI tonight with debatable results which I wouldn't dare post just yet... Nothing like what I've seen here anyhow.
I'd be interested in exposure times that work... Actually, if anyone has a ready-reckoner for celestial object exposure times, I'd be grateful.
Cheers
Dave

Hi all,
Reopening an old thread.... Here is the latest image of the Comet, taken tonight (the 26th Feb.) as it approaches Polaris. Its present location makes for less accuracy required in tracking. Because of this I tried longer exposures but the light pollution always wins.
This is a 30 second, ISO 1600, image with a Conon 300D at prime focus of my 222mm F5.77 Dobsonian on a poncet (polar tracking) platform. The scale of the image is about one degree wide.
Then the clouds were back and then the moon
