Folks, is this the remote cable release you use for the 300d to take exposures of more than 30seconds? :?

Thanks, Keith..

Hi Keith,
Yea thats the one,
What are the odds on you posting this today, I was in Maplin only today and bought a 2.5 mm jack and a switch for about 4euros,
This thing is a simple switch, building it yourself is much cheaper then getting the canon unit.

If you're looking for pricier but better controller, consider the TC-80N3. This can control the amount of time the shutter opens, the number of photos for the camera to take and the time difference between those photos.

It's great for time lapse or for shooting meteors (just set it up tell it to shoot for 30 seconds at a time and let it shoot all night). It's also good for solar eclipses where you can have it do a countdown and take as many photos as you like. It's one less instrument to have to control manually.

I'm not sure of the price though; I think I paid $130 for it.

Just out of curiousity,
If I were to make up a number of these leads (push once opens shutter, push again closes it) by the time Cosmos came around, would anyone be interested in buying one off me.
Promise, I wont rip you off

Lads, Once again, thanks! I did have alook at the TC-80N3, It would be about that price alright, probably worth it in the long run though!
Dave, I'd certainly buy one off you, that's a good idea :P
