Gents,
I have been away due to problems with the weather and which are common this time of the year.
What a great scope my FSQ is proving to be for landscape astrophotography. Last month I nailed the rising full moon against Lycabettus Hill in central Athens (see www.perseus.gr/Astro-Lunar-Scenes-Lycabettus-02.htm
) and last evening lightning struck twice but this time with the
setting sun.
For three sample photos from this evening's session, please see:
(1) www.perseus.gr/Astro-Solar-Scenes-Oropos-01.htm
(2) www.perseus.gr/Astro-Solar-Scenes-Oropos-02.htm
(3) www.perseus.gr/Astro-Solar-Scenes-Oropos-03.htm
The vignetting was created on purpose so as to add an artistic effect to the overall photo.
Anthony.

Anthony, your scope really has some excellent optics, you can see it fro the photo. I like the vignetting (and the foregroung building)
Great catch
Keith.

Gents,
Thanks for the kind words. I am slowly preparing for the full moon in a few days and I hope to have a similar quality result.
As for the quality of the optics, Keith, you have no idea how delighted I am at how pristine the optics really are?! Although focusing does require some very careful attention, the user is amply rewarded by the results which follow.
I picked up the FSQ as a temporary scope and until Astro-Physics would reach my position in the queue for the Traveler (similar diameter and focal length to the FSQ). Well, I have been so happy with the FSQ that the Traveler now is a non-issue and especially in light of the fact that AP has announced the discontinuation of the Traveler.
Anthony.
