Dear group,
Cat and mouse games last night with the partially-clouded skies and where I managed to capture NGC 752 in Andromeda. This particular cluster is very old for an open cluster (1.6 billion years-old) and spans 50' in apparent diameter. It is wel-populated and provides for a most impressive field of view.
For a result based on two hours total exposure time, please see www.perseus.gr/Astro-DSO-NGC-0752.htm ... the image is hyperlinked and which leads to an even more impressive higher resolution version.
Transparency this evening is so-so for now but I hope to pursue the Perseus Double Cluster around midnight when the skies are usually darkest.
Anthony.

Hi Dave,
Glad you like it. I reprocessed it from scratch so as to remove a very slight greenish hue that popped up during background normalization and the new version is now available on my website (I overwrote the earlier version).
With respect to a screen background, you are the third person to ask me. GO FOR IT ... it's yours.
Anthony.

Superb background data for only an hour of imaging with some nice galaxies in there.
Now, I know I like spikes mate but think maybe in this case it overshadows the background depth that you caught. Think its dear Kieran & friends time :bricks:

Leave the spikes in, I love 'em.

At long last, somebody has imaged this cluster, one of the nicest in the sky. Well done Anthony, superb image.
