I got one from scopetronics a long time back, they might still have one if you look.

Thanks lads,
ya Dave, they have one alright,
I spotted on there a Meade f/6.3 Focal Reducer/Field Flattener.
That may be a good investment for the OTA of the ETX125?

It reduces the f-ratio by a factor of 0.63.
The ETX125 is an f-1900.

Just thinking also,
would that reducer give a bigger FOV?
At the moment with the ETX with a camera at prime focus
I get 3 quarters of the moon in the frame,
I'd like to get the whole lot in if I could with a
bit to spare...
(hence I'm looking at the Skylux 70mm for this)

The quality of the optics in the ETX are superb
which is why I dismantled it from the forks in the first place.

Did I not say before I would lend you the adapter ??
As for the focal reducer, only trial and error will tell for sure what results you'll get using it in terms of vignetting, field curvatore and focusability.

Did you?
Cool, Thanks!
I'll drop up so during the week sometime if you don't mind?

I'm going to get the focal reducer
but not the Meade or Celestron one,
there is one made by Hersch and every review
I've seen for it on the astro sites say it's as good as
the others plus its cheaper.

I'm confident now it will give me the FOV I want.
There is a site but I can't find it that gives you a
selection of Scopes / Cameras / Accessories and lets
you click on an object to see what it will look like in frame.
If anyone knows it will ye remind me...

the old grey matter is not as good as it used to be.
