Perigee Full Moon with the Parthenon was created by ayiomamitis
Dear friends ... and Kieran,

I used the opportunity this evening with the good weather to catch the rising full moon against the Parthenon in central Athens and which was captured from a suitable distance so as to yield a pleasant aspect ratio between the perigee full moon and the Parthenon.

The sun was unfortunately over eight degrees below the horizon at the time of the rising moon and which impacted adversely certain aspects of the field of view. I plan to reshoot this view under more suitable lighting conditions at the first opportunity.

The profile to the right of the Parthenon is Mt Ymittos which rises to approximately 1000 meters in height and is the highest of the seven mountains which surround Athens.
