Taken hand held with a Canon Eos 350D & Skylux 70mm refractor as a telephoto lens.
One frame at 1000th of a second at ISO 1600.

Fab image Frank, magine if you were able to hold the LX200 on the 350D as a telephoto lens...

How was it to track manually?

Your capture triggered a distant memory of the following device that was once marketed by Zenit (of Russia) back in the seventies if memory serves.

Thats deadly Frank. You might call it 'Extreme Astrophotography' reminds me of an experience I'd rather forget involving tracking ISS one evening with the mount. I had the CGE at the time. I was looking through the finder while trying to keep ISS centred when all of a sudden WALLOP! The mount hit the meridian and stopped dead, but of course my eye didnt and continued at full speed into the finder. Dang that hurt!!

After the pain subsided I thought well if I got a good shot then it will all have been worth it so imaging my horror when I realised that I forgot one teeny weeny little thing. That teeny weeny thing was pressing the record button!! Enough profanity ensued to make a scarlet lady blush!

Simple to track.
Just get it in the viewfinder and follow it!
It came out pretty dull but I lightend it in PS.
I really only wanted to see what it would look like for the crack.
It's nuts just how big the thing is!

That sniper shot thing is a mad lookin yolk altogether!
