First Astrotrac outing was created by Keith g
Well, apologies to Frank & Trevor who have commented about the Astrotrac already ;) I could'nt wait to give it a go last week, it is SURPRISINGLY EASY to set up.

Here is my very first attempt as a complete novice with this kit, roughly polar aligned. I shot the flame nebula in Orion, details are here, one thing I can say is that it is well worth the investetment :) Just 2 minutes with a Canon 200mm L lens (really 320mm focal length), 50% cropped.

Hi Dave, no photoshop or wires over the lens, it's the effect of the lens stopped down as the stars in orion's belt are so bright :)

Class shot Keith!
The effect on the stars really adds to it
and it's cool that it's caused by the camera itself.
Looking forward to more!
