Is there a maximum daytime temperature beyond which one can't image?
Is it a question of filter not being able to filter out IR or just too hot and sweaty for the human? (forgive my ignorance).
If its a filter issue then are there times that visual use of solar filters can be dangerous?
I really am ignorant here so any clarification would enrich me a little.

Hi Mark
no its just down to the steadiness of the atmosphere (aka seeing). As the sun gets higher it heats the ground, heat from the ground rises and mixes with the air causing turbulence (and cloud:(). The turbulence causes wobbly and shaky images. For solar imaging the best time is in the early morning before the ground heats too much, but today it was already hot at 8am unusally enough for here. In the evening the air starts to cool and instabillity occurs again causing the image to shake and wobble.

Very helpful - yes I should have thought about seeing being an issue and heat related.
I have learned something new so its a good day...
Thanks again
Mark
