North America Milkyway was created by Keith g
Hello all again, may I present to you the north america milkyway region of cygnus shot here, taken again on May 9th last. The brightest star you can see here is Deneb - alpha cygnii shining bright at magnitude 1.2 along with the north america nebula NGC 7000.
A few facts (and surprises) about this shot:
1. I can't believe the amount of stars in this region of cygnus, they are just too numerous to count. I took 12 stacked frames at only 2.5 minutes each
2. My camera (Canon 40D) is unmodified! I am really surprised at how much red neblosity i picked up.
3. This shot is as close to natural looking as I can show it, I done little processing on it
4. The sky that night was incredibly clear, the kind of night which only happens a few times each year.
What makes me want to go back to here again is to show up better the dust detail next time with a greater exposure time

Keith,
I love this sort of imaging. The detail in the image is outstanding the processing great I can't get over the dust lanes.

Simply stunning !
I'm hopinbg to try a shot like this on the back of the CGE11 when my gear arrives on the Saggitarius starfields. I have a 70-300mm zoom lense.
