First Jupiters of the season was created by james335k
Hi everyone. Just thought I'd post a couple of images of Jupiter taken in the early hours of the 31st August. I've finally finished tinkering with them in Photoshop so here goes. Equipment used for both images was my C8 sct with DMK21AU04.AS camera and Astronomik RGB filter set attached. In the second image a Televue 2x barlow was also used. Seeing conditions were average. The final images are made from of the best 1500 frames in each channel and were then stacked in Registax 5 and combined in Photoshop. A few other minor adjustments (brightness, contrast etc.) were also made. Hope you guys like.

James - very nice indeed. The first image is very crisp without overdoing it and I like the inclusion in the field of what are presumably a couple of the Gallilean moons.
The F20 image is nice too - some obvious detail there. A little less crisp than the first but for obvious reasons.
They are both nice images with the C8 - way better than anything I ever got. The DMK seems a very good performer.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm having trouble with my Starry night software at the moment. Maybe someone can shed some light on the identity of the two moons I managed to capture? The image was taken at 12.30am approx and east and west are correctly orientated in the image.

Hi.James, Just checked Stellarium and rolled it back to 31st Aug 00.38 and it appears to me you captured Io on the left and Ganymede at right. I maybe wrong someone else may confirm it.
