Tony - given the hurdles you had to jump, its a fine image.

Any details on the scope you used?

I think that's a really impressive image, especially considering that it was from Dublin. My own efforts from a Southside suburb were very disappointing, the comet was very faint against the sky glow. I would love to know more about the equipment and techniques you used to achieve such a fine result.

Details of set up are. I have an 80mm refractor great for visual but shows some halos in astro photos so I use a minus violet filter. Half way through my imaging process I realised I had forgotten to a ttach the MV1 filter. I also use a Skywatcher light pollution filter which works very well. Anyway after the first run I decided to attach MV1 filter and batteries went low on Canon 350D so after replacing batteries and replacing filter and ready to go netbook showed low battery power, got extension lead from shed powered up netbook and when all this was done the clouds rolled in Oh My! So called it a night at 2.30 and went to bed. Had plans to have a second go at it tonight but Mr.Bushmills won the toss, will have another attempt on Monday night weather permitting
