M81/82 Bode's & Cigar Galaxy's

Hi all,

Here is an image of M81-82 I've been working on for a while. I was lucky to get some moonless clear nights and here is the results.

Luminance was taken on 08-09th of December 2010 and was taken with an William Optics FLT 110 Triplet APO, Atik 4000 CCD camera sitting on a AP1200 mount exposures where 27x10min. RGB data was taken on the 09-10 January 2011 each color exposure was 2hours 30 minutes each where 5 minute subs due to the light pollution and binned 1x1 Dark's and flats applied. Processed in images-Plus and PhotoShop CS3, That's all the techno details out of the way. A lot of time was put into this image, out at the scope and processing I have to admit I loved every minute of it

That's a fine image Carl. Looking at the full-res image there, you caught a lot of tiny distant galaxies in the background too.

Quit the namby pamby "pretty pictures" and get out there and do some *real* work. Haven't seen you in the Observer Summary Pages in ages. Same goes for I87 - do some work instead of replying to posts.
