Jupiter 27 Oct was created by tony h
A couple of images from last Thursday 27th Oct, 11.00 to 1.30 am
Both images were taken with 100mm refractor f9 and 3x Barlow.
The first one with a Philips Tucam 740k Webcam.
Second image taken with MS lifecam HD cinema (Thanks to G Honis for his mod instructions)
I think I may have reached my limit with this setup but I’m trying to squeeze the last bit out of this webcam and scope.
Details: WxCapture software, 10fps 2 mins and washed in Registax 5
Second image MS Lifecam Cinema 720HD
I took a bunch of images at different setting 7.5 fps, to 30 fps using different video formats MJPG and YUY2. and this is the best I got.
I was hoping for better results considering its USB2 camera and capable of capturing at higher uncompressed frame rates.
Details; Sharpcap Software, 15 fps
I only have this camera a couple of days and this was my first time using it, so need a lot more practice.
Next clear night I will spend more time and give it a good going over.

Really good images Tony, especially the first one. Lots of detail and nice colour balance. Very nice!

The first one is a great image. Like Mike says there is great detail and colour in there. Well done. Can't wait to get a clear night to try out my SPC on Jupiter when it is so well placed.
Well done on a lovely image,
Brendan

The 1st image is very impressive with lots of detail visible.
Maybe just a little dim / low colour?
I see a kind of halo artefact around the planet.
Is this an area left after cropping the image or is it some sort of
stacking remnant?

Thanks guys for your kind words and comments much appreciated.
Frank, I keep falling into this trap when out imaging the screen image may appear brighter in the dark.
So next time I will over expose a little
Is the halo a thin white line close to the right side of the planet if so I may have been a bit heavy with the contrast/lightness sliders in registax.
Had another go at it today.

Tony - I really like that last image. Whilst there is a "halo" around Jupiter, the detail on the surface is really great - given your setup. I'll look forward to your iamges from your upgraded setup!
Excellent work and thanks for sharing.
