M45 Pleiades Cluster - First Nebulosity processing was created by wbean
Hi Friends,
Got a nice clear night recently and managed to get some nice
data of M45 to go with my new copy of Nebulosity.
I'm having a few initial niggles with processing but I'm quite pleased with
what came out the other end.
OTA: WO 72mm Megrez w/ Moonlite Focuser & SkyWatcher FF & LPR Filter
Camera: Nikon D3100 14.2mp
Mount: HEQ5 Pro
Lights: 15x60sec
darks: 15x60sec
ISO: 1600
Basically, my stacked results of M45 are coming out pretty much mono although the blue
nebulosity is clearly visible in the raw images. I'm obviously doing something wrong
in one of the steps. I'm following Craig Starks tutorials on the Stark website.
Does anyone have any suggestions? *ahem* Simon!
Please and thank you
Will

You need to convert the RAW images to colour, this is what I do
1. Process the images against Dark and Flat Master frames
2. Demosaic and Colour images
3. Stack
I use Nebulosity 2 to pre process them which converts them to colour

Thanks Simon,
What I did was:
Applied the master dark (No flats)
Normalized intensity
Demozaic+square raw colour
Align
Stack
Right from the beginning of my processing it seems to be in mono.
Are there any preferences/settings that might need changing, perhaps?

How are you acquiring your images?
After I have processed the images against Dark and Flat Master, I do not do anything else with the image except run the "Batch Demosaic + Square RAW Color"

My images are raw NEF files from my Nikon D3100, which I'm putting
straight into Nebulosity.
