Out of curiosity, how did you take that?
Is that a combination of narrowband of the veil and LRGB of the background stars?

Thanks Michael- it's actually all the same data from a H694C- I just used a layer mask and was able to stretch the stars and the dso separately.
Thanks Mike- I'm surprised how little the light pollution is affecting the images actually - I'm out here imaging the Bubble right now with 720s subs @ f/4.3 and they seem relatively unaffected. The IDAS filter is superb though, I wish I'd got one sooner as IMHO they are head and shoulders above the Astronomik CLS which I used to use. Also all my targets this week have been to the NE and I start imaging just as they rise above the roof of my house so I reckon the house itself is playing a big part in blocking the unwanted light. Just wish we had a few more hours of darkness- it's terrible to be wishing for winter when it was 30 degrees today!

Would you have any images of targets taken with both for comparison? I'd love to see the difference with Irish light pollution (I've seen comparisons on US forums, but their light pollution is quite different to ours).
Looking at the transmission profiles of the filters it looks like the IDAS filter is allowing more light through around 570nm and 610nm which is going to help with the colour balance, but at the cost of blocking some more red than the CLSCCD from 670-700nm, both get the Halpha which is the main thing. Though high pressure sodium lamp emission at around 570nm won't be blocked by the IDAS, which I'd have thought would make them less useful here?
Fantastic shots by the way! You've inspired me to try taking a few images around cygnus even with the all night twilight!

I'm fascinated, please explain. I also have an Astronomik CLS, how does the IDAS improve on it?
