Rosette Nebula / Caldwell 49 in Narrowband was created by CarlightExpress
I've imaged the Rosette Nebula before in RGB with a DSLR and because it was almost a full moon I had to image it again with the CCD in Narrowband
Considering the poor weather we've had recently I managed to capture a lot of detail considering the amount of exposure time. Could have done with more time on SII
Object: Rosette Nebula
Location: Moneceros
Image Details:
7nm HA Data: 7x600S
7nm OIII Data: 6x600S
7nm SII Data: 4x600S
Darks: 23 Frames
Flats: 23 Frames
Equipment used:
Imaging Scope: Celestron C80ED APO Refractor
Imaging Camera: ATIK 383L+ Mono CCD Cooled to -25C
Guide Camera: QHY5
Off Axis Guider: TS 9mm OAG
Mount: Skywatcher NEQ6Pro (Steel Pier Mounted)
Image Acquisition Software: Sequence Generator Pro
Dark/Flat/BIAS frame subtraction and Stacking: Nebulosity 3
Post Processing: Adobe Photoshop CS5, Gradient Xterminator, Noise Ninja
I added the HA Data as a luminosity layer in the image after performing the combining of the colours

Nice one Simon.........looks great for this amount of data. It is a great subject for narrow band and I was so glad you helped me out when I was trying this one.
I note you are using SGPro for capture - for me this really is a great programme. I took me a while to get the plate solving working - hope you have. It will make it so much easier to go back and get more data.......which we both need on this.

Haven't looked at the plate solving part yet Brendan, I love the program, pity there's no guider component to it, will continue to use PHD for that
Yeah I need more data, only problem is I only have a 3 hour window due to where I live, and that 3 hour window is getting smaller and smaller

It works great with PHD - especially having the graph on the main page too. I have moved to PHD2. I think there were some guys with issues....but that will be sorted with the next version of SGPro. So far for me, guiding with PHD2 and capture (and auto focus) with SGPro have all worked great.
Well worth getting a handle on the plate solving. Takes a bit of time to get things set up - but well worth it.
Brendan.
