List of home Astronomical Magazines was created by JohnONeill
Hi,
I am compiling a list of society magazines around the country published now and in the past under the heading of society, professional and commercial effords.
I would be grateful for any infomation. Please mention the frequency of publication, also when it was founded. Also include those in electronic versions (usually in pdf format). Also include newsletters that were sustained for some time.
e.g. the IAS publishes Orbit (founded in the 1950s) every two months and Sky-High (founded in 1993) yearly (type: 'society').
John

Hi John,
the following is for TAS.
Sean McKenna started the TAS Newsletter in 1990, and it was quarterly.
Then we also had Cosmos magazine for the Junior Section, which I did in 1994. It only lasted 3 issues.
In 1998 the TAS Newsletter became Réalta (Reviews, Events, And Lectures - Tullamore Astronomy). That was coined by Girvan (and Máire) McKay. Sean McKenna continued it quarterly.
I took over in 1999 due to Sean Mac's work committments. It also became a bi-monthly publication. TAS got a boost in 2003 when it was sold in local shops. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue it in Autum 2006 due to my own work committments, and it has been dormant since.
Seanie.
