FIRST SCOPE was created by richie9hr
Greetings all,
considering purchasing my first telescope i am not a newbie as such in that i have a couple of pairs of binos 10x50 and 20x80 so i know my way around the sky . I live in the middle of the city dont have a garden (cliff dweller) so considering some type of grab and go scope purely for visual observing came across a company called telescope -services and a couples of their products caught my eye ,TS mak 102 and the DS mak150 wonder has anyone dealt with this company and also is anyone using these scopes
thanks R ICHIE

Hi Richie and WELCOME! Telescope service is a brilliant company! Many others will recommend it! As for their scopes i have nothing but good reports! They have a VERY good customer after sales record, good prices and cheap shipping! They will recommend the right scope just for you! If they think a scope they dont even sell would suit you better, they will even recommend ANOTHER SHOP! The Maks sound good!
I see you have 20x80mm binos so i presume you have a fairly solid tripod already? Would you prefer a tripod or a telescope mount?
Hope this helps,
Matthew ]
ps, welcome again!

If you want grab-and-go then an ETX is always a good bet. Great little scopes, punch far above their aperature as it were.
Welcome aboard!

Hi Richie and welcome,
Basically get the biggest scope you can carry around and afford.
The specs for the 150 look great, the focal ratio is 12.6, which is a small bit high for some of the bigger deepsky stuff.
If you get it, get the 2" visual back version, this makes the scope more versatile with eyepieces.
Aperture is everything, do not compromise on aperture, if you do, it will cost you more money in the long run.
