Total Solar Eclipse -20th March was created by flt158
Let me have the opportunity to simply say that Valerie and I are flying tomorrow to Billund in Denmark. On Friday morning 20th March, we shall be up in the air in an aeroplane with square windows to witness the Total Solar Eclipse. Needless to say neither of us have observed a such an eclipse from this situation before; although a lot of people worldwide have in the past.
I shall be only using 9X63 binoculars -some others will be taking images. Suffice to say this will be my 9th Total Solar Eclipse and Valerie's 7th. It seems we are guaranteed clear skies as we travelling at a height of 35,000 feet.
I do certainly hope everyone back here in Ireland will see the deep Partial Solar Eclipse.
Aubrey.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Best of luck, Aubrey, unlike those of us stuck on the ground, you have the ability to move to a better location.

See you up there Aubrey.
Best of luck to everyone observing the eclipse. Hopefully the weather will be favourable.

Thank you for all well wishes.
Valerie and I are now in Billund. The Zleep Hotel is fine and the sky today is completely sunny and clear. We might see some Aurora activity tonight. However we must get up very early Friday morning (before sunrise) and get on the plane for 5am. We have met up with other eclipse chasers with whom we have met before which is excellent. Everyone is very friendly. Valerie and I did see Jupiter very briefly last night after an evening meal. The sky then was overcast.
In closing, I hope many of you will observe tomorrow's Partial Solar Eclipse.
Aubrey and Valerie.

We arrived in Billund late last night. Problems with flights due to Lufthansa strikes, but here eventually. Got about 3.5hrs sleep and just up now to walk back to the airport. From examining the flight intinary, it seems that there quite a few irish people on this flight. Hopefully that's the last of the hiccups with flights!
Hope the sun and shadow shine on you all!
