Lunar X + Lunar V 27/07/20

For those of us who like to do a bit of daytime observing, the Lunar X + the Lunar V are due to be on the terminator on Monday afternoon 27th July 2020 at 13.25 UT or 14.25 Irish Summer Time.
There will be rain on the morning on the east coast, but it is due to clear up at about noon.
Both these lunar objects need decent magnifications - say around 100X.

I get the information from Cloudy Nights.
The Moon is due to be in Libra on Monday.

Very many thanks for this notification - did you manage to observe these features earlier?

The sky is looking good for tonight. If it stays as is I'm going to observe from my back garden.

Hello, Darren.
I have just come in.
I had the refractor in the front garden to see the Lunar X and the Lunar V.
As the Moon was low, I could not see it from my back garden.
Our front garden is minuscule, but Valerie and I observed the X at 40X from 5.55 pm local time.
The clouds kept coming; but so did the clear blue skies.
So I kept the scope in that position until 6.30 pm.
Now I have it set up in the back garden ready for an evening session.
I'm starving right now.
But I sure am glad to see the X and the V on the Moon's terminator.
It's all about timing and being in the right place.
The Lunar X is caused by 5 craters which are interlocking with each other.
They are La Caille (68 km), Purbach (118 km), Blanchinus (58 X 68 km), Regiomontanus (126 X 110 km) and Werner (70 km).
When the Sun catches the tops of the rims of these craters, the Lunar X shows itself.
The Lunar V is caused by mountains in Sinus Medii.
I reckon both features will still be visible for a few more hours yet.
So maybe some of you will see them.

Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to observe them myself earlier - pesky clouds! However, the scope is set-up, and it looks like Jupiter and Saturn will be on the menu tonight.

Unfortunately there was a very heavy shower before sunset on Monday night.
So I had to put away everything.
Maybe Tuesday night will be better.
