Biysk is right at the foothills of the ALtay Mountains, so there's not much point going further south than this. Next stop past the mountains would mean crossing into Mongolia.

No major roads north of Novosibirsk along the eclipse path.

I'm not even gonna start looking at those prediction sites!

Long range forecast indicates we'll be hitting the road south of Novo!

The M52 road runs right along the centreline of the eclipse so we just need to take this road and keep driving till we hit a clear area.

So,we are flying tomorrow to Moscow.See you in Novo,hoping for a cloudless day on the 1 August.
