July Competition Theme - Summer Triangle (2014) was created by Seanie_Morris
July's Competition Prize is kindly sponsored by:
Your target for entry into July's competition will be on The Summer Triangle. Your photo can be one that entered in to a previous competition only if it was not a winner in the past. It can be astronomical, scenic or even artistic (e.g. on paper by hand). It is hoped that some nice widefield or artictic shots of this Summertime asterism will be in some way easy to achieve for many, and would be a nice consensual target instead of just 'star trails' or 'widefield'.
This Month's Prize
Has been kindly sponsored by Ktec Telescopes and is a Heritage 76 Mini-Dobsonian Telecscope and a copy of Monthly Sky Guide .
+
The folks at Ktec Telescopes love getting new astronomers into the hobby, and that hopefully the scope/book will be given to/used by a young enthusiast astronomer, thus helping to nurture a developing interest in astronomy.
Closing Date: Thursday July 31st.
TO ENTER:
Entries are to be sent to ifasphoto@yahoo.ie and should be hosted off-site, and linked to that provider. DO NOT ATTACH/SEND PHOTOS VIA EMAIL.
PLEASE make all images no larger than 800 pixels in width. Those that are larger will be requested to be made smaller, or failure to reply will result in omission from the competition. Rules etc can be found here .
NOTE re: flickr Hosted Images
flickr tends to protect images hosted on its service, thus making it nigh on impossible to just 'Right-click and Save As' an image. Please bear this in mind when sharing your flickr images as I have had to request alternate hosting links for the images (a lack of reply meant they couldn't get included in the polls in time).
PLEASE also include your IFAS username with your entry.
Clear Skies & Good Luck!

IFAS Astrophotography Competition Admin.

Hi All,
There's only 1 week left. I hope that you take advantage of some clear skies over the next few nights and make an effort!

Hi Seanie, thanks for your tip about saving images on flickr, I have an account with them, but even I can't save my own image by right clicking !!
Would you mind if I emailed it to you, it's not that large? or are there any other good photo storage sites you would find hand?

If absolutely necessary, I can accept an email with a photo attached. The images seen each month on the polls here are all hosted in IFAS's own media folder anyway - I don't embed the source url for them at all. This is to ensure complete anonymity (unless you actually know who took the photo regardless!).
