Suggestion for new forums was created by tomcosgrave
Hi all,
Well, I know this place is for astronomy, but I would bet that most people are also interested in space flight, both human and robotic, especially the latter as it crosses with astronomy
I think a new group should be greated for spaceflight, with three forums -
"Robotic spaceflight" - for things like the Voyager program, the Mars Express etc etc
"Human Spaceflight" - obviously, the STS program, the ISS program and the Chinese efforts to put a human in space.
"Future spaceflight" - perhaps not needed as the first two would do the trick as well, but how about a forum specifically for future developments of spaceflight, both robotic (ion drives etc etc) and human (the successor to the STS program etc)?
And Bart? I'm sorry, but I don't have the time to moderate these should they be set up - sorry

A good suggestion, done!
As for the moderation, how did you know that would be my first question!
So .... any volunteers to moderate this?
Bart B.,

I really must think of something interesting to use as a tag line!

What does a moderator have to do?
How much time etc. is required?

Don,
as well as being a regular contributor to the boards in terms of hours served a week (as an example), you just have to use good ole politics if things got out of hand. Bart or Albert could probably PM you with details? There is a thread for club reps here (visible only to them) as they are the most active ones, and help in the smooth running of things here.

Moderators should be regular contributers to the board and should ideally be on every day to keep an eye on their boards. The role of the moderator is two fold: 1) To protect the boards from trouble by dealing with any illegal/inappropriate content that may show up and b) to help keep discussion going positively by splitting/moving topics etc as needed.
Interested?
Bart.
