Here's one I made earlier.....

It's only a list of Messier Objects for binoculars but it's a start! I created it for much the same reason, so I could have an idea what to look for when I went out, without having to do too much preparation (like the lazy sod I am!) 8)
it's an excel spreadsheet (yes, yes, I apologise.... I'm afraid I'm another Microsoft stooge!) that can be sort to whatever conditions you want, ie. best season for viewing, constellation, type of object, etc, etc. Don't know if it will any good to any of you, and I can't remember where I got the data from. :?
But this was all before the Binocular Handbook so I never actually used it!

Anyway, it's here if anyone wants it.

OK, so I forgot that we can't upload excel files here anymore. You'll just have to tak it the way it is and forget about sorting it :)

Leo, thats a handy list and may be useful to me, but my stupidity requires a key, do you have one, I'm just guessing at what the "Type" abbreviations are. this would be handy for printing off and taking to the scope.
Thanks,
Bill.

Bill,

No key I'm afraid, so I had to go look them up! I've upload the new list here:

Binocular Messier List

Looking at it now again, it's actually a handy little list, I'll probably use it on it's own when I doing a little casual observing, or with the Messier Handbook as a guide to what to go looking for and when.

Hope it suits you better now. If you want it re-sorted (perhaps by season) or you can think of anything else that should be added to it, give me a shout.

All the best,
