Hi Carl, thanks for the comments. I to have a 14"er but a Meade. I have found it makes a good scope for the medium to small DSO's with the 6.3 focal reducer and my Canon 350D.
What a great setup you have. Soon I'll be getting a solid vinyl shed that will roll off as a whole unit. When rolled back for viewing will be able to close the doors for warmth and comfort. Then just roll back into closed position to protect scope and other equipment. This will give be both a roll off roof observatory and a roll off shed observatory.

Soon to be the ASH CLUSTER OBSERVATORIES

My worst light pollution is in my NNW skies. Sky glow from Philadelphia. My skies to the east and south are good. Many of nights can see the Milky Way. But as we all wish, skies could be so much better.

That colour image just blows me away still. Brightness balance is perfect. I mean, filament detail in the Trapezium, even in that small size, is really cool.

Tom,

That is an excellent image. The trapezium is always a pain in the butt. Either ignore it (seriously!) or get a small series of 30-secs subs and incorporate them into the final image.

Either way this image is a keeper. I would certainly not turn my back on it!
