here's the major outburst around 23:10 - this video runs from 2306 to 2337 and is 2min28sec long so a bit over 10x realtime. Shot from ballygally Co Antrim, just up the coast from Larne

Thats impressive Paul,
We got to see some aurora from down here, but nothing as bright as that, We headed up the gallows hill to see if we could get this aurora, at first we thought we could see some skyglow, but as we looked closer we could see some shape to it, and the camera confirmed that it was a faint purple/green aurora.

Those few degrees further north/south seem to make quiet a difference,..

Missed this one due to the cloud :( General question about the aurora. How different is the naked eye view v what you see in the pictures people produce?

Hi Neill,
The pic I put up pretty much shows what we saw, except the colour was not as intense.
TBH, unless you knew what it was, you could mistake it for light pollution if you only glanced at it, that's what we saw of it,.

What I saw looked like car headlights arching up into the sky, with broader swathes lower down to the horizon. Only the camera picked out the colour.

Hi All,
After loads of work on this I'm finally happy enough with it to call it the finished item. Enjoy!
