Started earlier with turquoise streamers E-zenith-W. Now pink/red/violet streamers from WSW to about 20 deg S of zenith, then green/turquoise streamers to ENE, plus a turquoise arc about 20 deg wide from SW to E about 20 deg below the streamers. Much paler shifting streamers from zenith to just above W horizon. Back out to see the changes now ...

Location Limerick

A solid band of red running from east to west, but fading a bit overhead, and to the southern edge if it a band of green.

Jeez Dave, we'll turn u into an outdoor astronomer on of these days
From here in Urlingford, it's faded a bit now. Spectacular display seen about 9.30pm though. For a while the northern third of the sky was covered in green vertical bands with distinctively bright blood-red streamers flowing from Atlair right through the zenith and over to saturn in Gemini. Spectacular!! Thought for a while the sky was on fire!! :)
Definetly alot better than a few weeks ago.

Fabulous show last night - sorry about the lack of warning, I thought the disturbance from yesterday morning's CME arrival would have faded by dusk here. We have to thank a sustained very strong southward swing of Bz for last night (it reached -60nT for quite a while after 1500 UT yesterday). Another CME from a M9.6 is on the way, it may stir things up again, let you know more when it comes to hand.

Clear skies.
