what phase is mars currently in? Ive taken a few images tonight, and although my registax skills are still not up to a lot, it seems that mars isnt fully round, in any of my images. I would like to find a computer simulated image to compare it to

Hi Fintan,

According to SkyMap Pro (V8), the current phase is at 93.0%. Hope that helps.

I was just checking Stellarium and a rough (eye ball) guess would be 90-95%.

Split the difference and you get 92.5%.

This is how Mars looks tonight according to Stellarium.

MAN O MAN i wish thats how it looked when i observe it.

I'm thinking thats about 95% full.

One thing is for sure....that with the naked eye it is fading big time.
