I 'll try to help with english lang, here. Translating from greek...

1. He uses a standard background disk image of the sun, which he has made by:
a. painting by hand a lot of seperate solar disk paintings or sketches, in different shades of red and orange,
with random "granulation paterns" like these
.
b then he scanned them one by one
c. and stacked them in Registax to create the final background disk image.

2. He makes VISUAL observations with PST/SolarMax 40/TMax Filter double stacked.

3. Then he works with Photoshop and tries to paint/draw the features he has seen:
active regions, fillaments, prominences, sunspots, etc.
For this purpose, he uses almost exclusively 2 of Photoshop tools: The <Smudge Tool> and the <Clone Stamp Tool>.

Hope this was helpfull :D

Quite incredible!!

Petros to you use a 'graphic tablet' (perhaps Vagelis will translate) to do the drawing or is this just done with a mouse and keyboard?

Either way this is exceptional work.

Fascinating technique -- and it certainly works. The effect is quite stunning.
