"Its life Jim but not as we know it" ....more crackpot stuff on a slow news day...the world economy is on a knife edge...but...but...Big foot has gone for a stroll on Mars. Image the scene the astronaut bends a ponderous knee, stoops to pick up a sample of Mars sterile soil, whem big foot taps him on the shoulder and asks "wat ya lookin for"
but seroiusly I think current thinking would suggest that Mars as a smaller body than earth, did not have time to develop even the most basic ingredients for life before it lost its magnetic field ans its atmosphere. It is quite possible that if any is found, that it is cross contamination from earth.
I think life is common, multi-celluler life rare and intelligent life very rare. and technically advanced life nearly...but not quite...impossible
In the words of Mr Spook "it's possible captain, but it,s highly unlikely"
Captain Slog, star date 220108

You aught to inform NASA about your newly discovered Solar System distance scale Tony.
Mark.
Anybody who says that Earthshine is reflected Sunshine is talking Moonshine.

Now that is a quotation from a hopeless optimist."Once you get to earth orbit, you're halfway to anywhere in the solar system"

I agree with Saturn5. Same as Dublin traffic. Once you get past the Red Cow you're half way to anywhere in the country

Looks like Bigfoot to me.
Now how the hell did he get all the way to Mars?
"Once you get past the Red Cow"
What...you mean people have made it past the Mad Cow round-a-bout and lived to tell the tale?
I'd like to hear their stories.
