I was probably JUST in bed when you would have rang Ronan! Damn it anyway! Gonna have to be a bit more alert.
The ironic thing is, for the past few nights that some of you have seen these, I haven't, because I didn't look properly. I'm renting on a farm in the country with almost 360 degrees field of view from the field in front of my house!

Thanks for the kind comments, I was lucky that I saw it at all, I have to say I nearly dismissed it as cirrus cloud as I've never seen this before.
It was only the fact the there were so translucent that they cought my eye at all.
The time I took the pic was at exactly 23:36 and 20 seconds.
I have other pics of it which will be on the SAC site soon.
I noticed that on Thursday night that the sky was very similar in terms of how blue it was but there were only "normal" dark clouds scattered around.
I really have to say I was very impressed at how fabulous those clouds on Wedesday night looked, the pic above really doesn't do them justice.
