Canon 350D, 28-80mm lens, 25 seconds, ISO 1600, Tuesday May 25th 00:18hrs. Auriga is the bright star at centre-left.

The cyan-like glow on the horizon is more noticeable.

Conor,
It is/they are very noisy. I tried at ISO400 and ISO1600. Focus in the middle of the night is a problem!

I found that 350D not noisy at all. Here is some of my shots using the 350D

I found to look through the view finder when dark adapted and stars will appear when you look hard enough, then focus them to a pin point and done.

Cheers guys. It's hard to fathom if I was seeing them or not, even though the camera didn't capture them. 2 nights after this there was a hint at twillight of a display taking shape, but when darkness fell there was nothing. Last night looked like there was going to be a display but clouds rolled in around 23:25hrs when I hit the hay.

Hi folks it is nice and clear here so if a display materialises tonight it should make a good image.
