Hi All,
A large number of solar viewing (eclipse) shades for IFAS are in production. I hope they will be with us in time for February 21st, but production and delivery (from the US) is unlikely at the moment.
Member IFAS Clubs
Those member clubs who have paid their memberships and are up to date will receive a FREE batch of 100 glasses. Any clubs who have not paid their dues, or are in arrears, will not be eligible to receive their batch (especially in time for March 20th).
Please contact the IFAS Treasurer, Bernie Foley (username nectarine) for payment arrangements.
It is important that each member club or society keeps up to date by making sure their dedicated IFAS Club Representative has access to the IFAS Reps forum. Registered users cannot see it unless they are added to it for privacy reasons. Bernie has the latest on who has paid and who is still in arrears. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Seanie Morris,
IFAS Chairperson.

Thats awesome !!!
so every payed up club gets 100 glassas, am I readin that right ?
It would be great if they were in the country before our next meetng in March where we could hand them out to those who cant come along to the planned observing session for the eclipse, but not the end of the world if it was later..

That's true Dave, I know now I won't have them till the end of the month. So, hopefully, I'll be able to get them in time. As soon as I know when they are to arrive with me, I will be looking for a postal address for each club who is up to date on their membership payments and we will courier the batches out, same day for everyone. We are also considering a mail order for those who are not part of a club but would like to buy some.

Just a reminder that I will be in Galway next weekend for any clubs who want to take advantage of this great offer and pay their membership or insurance!
Clubs that have already paid (thank you) are: St Cronans Stargazers, Cork, Kerry and the IAS so already entitled to their free glasses!
