coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

Conor and i both found it independantly at 20.41. I found the planet with my 10X50s from my bedroom window, meanwhile Conor was observing it also from his own house using a 6X30 viewfinder handheld! We came out to our gardens to tell one another when we both realised we had found it at the same time, the coincidence was hillarious. We observed through the 8" and saw its near complete disk phase and it was a nice sight sharing the same field as distant tree tops. We also seen it with the naked eye no problem at all. The planet looked great before susnet and we where suprised at how easy to see it was! It is around 8* solar elongation. I tried several images but i have not checled them yet!

Thats good going.
according to starry night, the disk is about 10 arcsoconds with a 99% phase!
and it was about 3.5 degrees above the horizon at the time.
At least you waited for the sun to be below the horizon.

Thanks Dave! It was very bright and easy to see, finding it in the bright twilight is always a joy. I hope to get some better images when it climbs higher and further from the sun.
Good luck with your own observing
