This evening i had a good observing session with the planet Venus as soon as the sun set. I observed it with the naked eye, 8X50 finder and through my 8" SCT Meade F/6.3 at 49X. The seeing was poor but the trans was excellent! The planet looked close to a full phase through the scope but was stunning with the naked eye as dusk began. The following is a selection of images i took during this observing session from my back garden showing the planet through all the above mentioned equipment, but they do not do justice to the visual appearance!

I really missed not having Venus in the sky after the display last year, so I'm really looking forward to this summers viewing. :)
This evening, I'll have a serious go at trying to get a look at it through the scope.
