Well Bill, I've been e-baying for a while now. Its really great for picking up stuff good n' cheap.l You do need to be very careful not to get ripped off though. My goldens rules are;

Only but from someone with a lot of positive feedback.
Only but using paypal because they provide insurance if the guy is con artist.
Never ever send money by western union or draft as you have absolutely no comeback.

Up to now all my experiences have been positive.

I missed out on a lovely cassegrain mirror set by one pound today. You can get quite a buzz from a good old bidding war.

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.

I've been selling for a while on eBay now, I've also made a couple of telescope accessory purchases as well. Sometimes I think the buzz of bidding really hooks people and they go overboard.
A couple of times I've bid on an alignmate for my scoe, they cost £12.99 brand new, yet on each occassion I've been outbid to the sum of £15 or £17 for a used one. Sometimes it's crazy, but I never complain when they go crazy bidding for my plants :wink:
I've had one bad purchase where the item was totally useless and the seller gave me bad feedback cos' I complained :shock: Still, I'm not worried there as it looks kinda rediculous what the seller wrote.

What problems are you having?

I've sold loads of stuff on ebay.

Warning: It gets addictive very quickly, both buying and selling! :)

Everyone in Ireland buys Meade, and they all buy them from Lidl.

Seanie,
There was a sellers problem on eBay for a while where it was difficult to open a sellers account. The problem was around Post Codes which everyting in the UK works on. I had great difficulty, 10 attempts, trying to open a sellers account, after many emails and discussion with eBay, they resolved the problem, if you try again, you may find you can become a seller now, if not an email to eBay will sort out any problems there may still be.
And yes jhonan, very, very addictive :shock:
