Bill and John,
this is the problem I was having over the course of about a week before I gave up, wondering if there was something else I was NOT doing!
I'll give it another go and see what happens.

There was a sellers problem on eBay for a while where it was difficult to open a sellers account. The problem was around Post Codes which everyting in the UK works on. I had great difficulty, 10 attempts, trying to open a sellers account, after many emails and discussion with eBay, they resolved the problem, if you try again, you may find you can become a seller now, if not an email to eBay will sort out any problems there may still be.

Apparently a lot of people in Ireland have had problems with seller registration. The main issue seems to be the requirement to input a "valid" postcode. ebay customer support told me to enter six zeroes in the postcode field (000000), and this eventually got me signed on.

Astronomers do it with the lights off.

Sometimes, as in my case, the zero's didn't work and "default" had to be put in. The result is people send me items addressed oldcastle, default, County Meath. It sure confuses the postman
