ladies and gents,
something i came across. i think it would be hard to compete with this scope if it gets off the ground, except of course on the odd cloudy night.

It still cant search close to the sun which is the prime hunting grounds for amateurs anyway. However future versions of SOHO and SWAN will make comet hunters redundant for sure when they start to see deeper and have larger fields centered around the sun and of course other space telescope surveys which wont be far away in the distant future.

You know, its only for the benefit of exploration and all that goes with it that we have these satellites doing the work. Still, shame that there is little being left to the amateur anymore. It will take some of the excitement out of approaching comets, unless one is as big as Hale-Bopp or better is discovered!
