Spotted a nice multicoloured sundog 22* to the east of the sun and 5* in height. As the sun dropped to the west a nice faint white 5* high solar pillar appeared. As the sun dropped below the horizon it grew to 10* in height and was a lovely thin golden spike. It remained visible for a long time afterwards and turned a nice red colour and finally reached 15* in height! It was a truely lovely sight! I could see the pillar drifting slowly with time towards the north marking the suns movement below the horizon which was really cool!!!
