For those of you who are into the whole RSS thing I have added an RSS feed to the IFAS site.

It can be found at: www.irishastronomy.org/boards/rss.php

Enjoy!

Glad you like it but the credit for this little addition should really go to dpower who sent me a PM with a link to a really easy to install syndicator for PhpBB. All I did was install it!

Any chance of an idiots guide to this RSS and what it does and how to use it. I've seen this on other sites and often wondered?

Cheers

Conor

Conar, briefly. RSS is a way of streaming selected content over the web so that it can be read in a more convienient manner in programs called RSS readers. The one I use is here;

www.rssreader.com/download.htm

Have a go and see it for yourself it will make a lot more sense that way. Add barts URL to the newsreader and the rest will make sense. Another equally important use for RSS feeds is to build content from one website into another. For example you could add barts feed to your website so that you see something like 'Latest Posts from the IFAS BBS' in a corner of your website. The BBC have a great RSS feed too. On of my favourites.

newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/front_page/rss.xml#

Just another one for you to play with

Thanks Dave finally got this going.

Had a job downloading the firmware required and after following a series of links I got there.

This seems to work similarly to podcasts.

Very handy

Thanks again Bart and Dave
