Kylie looks great in my Garden Dave. Honest, she must have thumbed it here :twisted:Presumably, the only folks who would be interested anyway would be those from this board who have visited my house and are seriously coveting the AP1200... Hmmm....

Security is Paramount when to comes to a structure in a garden.
I'm currently (and have been for a long while) in the process of building an observatory in the back garden, completion is hopefully very near.
I'm going to put one of my PIR sensors from the house alarm out there and also have a siren at the door. BUT, I think if someone is determined to get in, there really is no way of stopping them, just make sure you dont leave something valuable, small or easily carriable out there, such as laptops or eyepieces.
Also get your scope insured, mines covered under an all risk policy with the house insurance.
I'm comtemplating leaving a "dud" computer case in the corner, they can take that if they want, how about attaching a live mains wire to it and have it switched on when I'm not around  :

Folks - here's a couple of snaps of Eamonn Ansbro's Kingsland Observatory. A roll-off roof of spectacular dimensions! But the concept is the same no matter what the size.
The second shot (completed shed) shows the immense 1m scope and note the internal 'warm' room.
Here's some data:
The dimensions are length 7m, width 3.5m. The height is 3m, however the walls are only 1.2m.
It is motorized with limit switches. It runs on rails with verticle
wheels 4 inches in diameter and 2 inch horizontal wheels to realign the
upper box.
BTW, you would be surprised one person can move it, but its
a hard push. Really not meant for manual pushing. It is absolutely
secure with steel lock and camera sensors with alarm. But really, do
you want to move 3/4 ton onto a lorry!

Perhap because light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
