My July Observing highlights! was created by martinastro
Cant believe its the end of one month and the start of another.

This month has been very cloudy for me, infact i would say one of the cloudiest i can remmember. On the few clear nights available the sky may in reality have been 50% clear at best and the trans was poor but no matter i squeezed in as much as i could :D ......

1) I seen 4 Noctilucent cloud displays..one of these was spectacular!

2) Comet C/2005 N1 (Jules - Holvorcem) was discovered which i have yet to see.

3) I made many observations of planet Mars

4) I seen one naked eye sunspot

5) At least one Nova was discoverd in Sagittarius

6) I observed 5 sundogs (one rare type 30* from sun)

7) Seen 2 Upper Tangent Arcs

8) One partial 22* solar halo

9) A section of a Parhelic Arc (tail on sundog)

10) I done 2 Southern Delta Aquarid Meteor watches

11) Many sunspot/Lunar and variable star observations

12) I got 8 hours and 45 mins of comet hunting done which has brought my over all count to 780 hours 11 mins of searching since May 1st 2000.
During these sessions i have logged 2633 telescopic satellites and 212 telescopic meteors. Thats it to date. So far August as got of to a very good start and i have to admit that i have a good feeling about this month....bring it on :D

Clear skies to you all

MArtin,
I have been too busy recently to do anything more then very casual observing, only quick looks at some of the usual summer objects likeM57 etc...
Maybe I'll do better this august?
