Just got this from Terry:

Fingal County Council has invited submissions for a study of the future of the area surrounding Dunsink Observatory. The area is bounded by the M50, the Dublin-Maynooth railway line and the Ratoath Road. Submissions should be sent to Mr Peter Tuck, Senior Executive Officer, Planning Department, Fingal County Council, Swords or emailed to devplan@fingalcoco.ie on or before Friday, 26 August.

From memory, NONE of the lighting arrangements are FCO'd, barely even semi's. That feckin' car park (the M50) has created such a disturbing glow around Dublin, that in winter, I could easily spot the glow from Kinnegad!

By the way IFAS will be putting in a submission[1] also so feel free to add comments to this thread.

Even folks outside the pale may like to send in their own submissions. For example would you come up to visit a science center and planetarium minutes off the M50? You might like to let the council know if you would!

Cheers,
~Al
