Solar Eclipse Sequences from Greece was created by ayiomamitis
Dear Friends,

I hope you approve: www.perseus.gr/Astro-Eclipses-2005-10-03.htm and www.perseus.gr/Astro-Eclipses-2005-10-03b.htm ....

Any suggestions as to whether Ireland's national amateur astronomy magazine would be interested, particularly if the local weather in Ireland did not cooperate?

Anthony.

Beautiful images Anthony. Its the closest most of us here have gotten to see the event!

I noted the absence of any sunspots - is that because there weren't any or your images just don't show any?

I'm sure any of the usual publications would be delighted with your images - especially here in Ireland.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

I am so sorry (!) to hear that the Irish weather did not cooperate. It was truly a majestic event.

As for the absence of sunspots, I was pulling my hair trying to nail perfect focus since there are NO suspots right now visible on the solar disk and, as such, it was not an easy task trying to focus before the eclipse.

I will send the two mosaics to AI in the event they are of interest, particularly now that the event was not visible from Ireland due to the weather.

Glad you like the photos. I got fried under the sun but I am NOT complaining (nice photos and a nice tan).

Anthony.

Nice work there Anthony! I like the way you have 'woven' the pictures in a timely spiral - a very nice touch!

Anthony,
when i was looking at the weather forecast, I looked over at Greece and saw cloud free skies.
I think we're all living in the wrong part of the world
Great images, and like Dave said above, the sun looks very quiet these days.
