What time is the lunar eclipse? was created by elrhinocerus
Can anyone tell me what time the lunar eclipse will take place at this evening in the West of Ireland?

The lunar eclipse is not visible from this part of the world at all I'm afraid.:(

This one will only be visible from the Americas. The Moon is below the horizon round these parts when the eclipse occurs.

elrhinocerus,

The lunar eclipse occured today at 13:02. Hence you had to be on the other side of the globe to see it. The next one visible is on the 14 th of March next just before midnight, but it is not even a partial and will not be too spectacular.

The next partial eclipse is just before Moonrise on the 7 th September next and the next total eclipse is on march 3rd 2007!

Are you sure its visible from Ireland at all? Its best suited from the mid-United States, Paifica, Asia and India. Will it stretch far enough over the Moon at our longitude to see anything?

There was a partial lunar eclipse today but it was at 13.30 this afternoon, it was not visible from Ireland as the moon was below the horison at the time.
