I'd like to make contact with the member of the audience from Whirlpool last September who spoke about Transition Year astronomy. Anybody on the list know who I'm looking for, or perhaps the person is a subscriber?
I'd like to promote astronomy in my school, possibly through introducing a TY course, but I also that it might be a nice idea for the IFAS to propose a curriculum for TY astronomy to the Department, or at least make available to interested schools. Before reinventing the wheel however, I thought it would be nice to make contact with someone who has practical experience of doing this.

I have a copy of the Radio Astronomy Teacher's Notebook from
www.radiosky.com/booksra.html
. Its really a collection of notes rather than a book. I'll bring it down to Galway with me if you are interested in browsing through it.
Radio Astronomy Projects like this have the advantage that some can be done during the day and the students can have the fun of building the equipment themselves in some cases.
Cheers,
~Al
