Pay no attention to that Supernova was created by eansbro
To all supernova hunters, If you have been surveying the skies last night and came across the galaxy APG 200 (UGC 2362) at location 02 53 30, +13 01, right now - 04:30-05:00 UT, and you thought you have discovered a new supernova.
Well its not a supernova. It's in fact Asteroid (5477) 1989 UH2. The
asteroid is slowly going across the galaxy right now.
Clear skies

Hi Seanie,
Its just a coincidence that the orbit of this asteroid cuts right through this galaxy. There is also minor planet programme that checks identification of asteroids that may be in the vicinity of galaxies. Supernova hunters if they think that they have found a suspect, go through a routine of checking past images of other observatory's surveys and also minor planet checking is essential. It would be a surprise if this was sent in to the IAUC.
